bioba – Natural BubbleTea

Bubble tea, also known internationally as Pearl Milk Tea or Boba Boba, originally comes from Taiwan and was invented in the mid-1980s, supposedly because teahouses wanted to get children interested in drinking tea again. Based on sweetened green or black tea with milk and fruit syrup, it has always been drunk with a straw. The special feature of this drink, however, was the addition of colored balls of tapioca, which resemble fruit gum, or popping bobas, with a liquid filling of fruit juice that burst in the mouth.

Bubble tea only really became popular after a report on Japanese television in the 1990s. From then on, it developed into a trendy drink in Asia, but also made its way across the pond to California (USA) and from there spread throughout the United States. In Taiwan, China, South East Asia, the United States and Australia, there are teahouse chains that still exclusively offer bubble tea in a wide variety of flavors.

In our part of the world, the unusual little balls are now called bubbles. They are also used by creative minds in molecular cuisine, for example, to give selected dishes and drinks a fruity kick. The experience begins as soon as you have one of these bubbles in your mouth.

The pearl is burst with a bold push of the palate, boah!!! An explosion of the taste buds, the electrifying nerve impulse reaches the brain and sends all the senses into raptures.

But now you want to know exactly what’s inside, what is it that can enchant you so much? Fruit juice? No, real fruit puree without preservatives and with natural coloring. So it’s really fun, with no regrets! So get on the bubble wave and let’s go!

P.S.: We also focus on quality when it comes to our homemade teas, so our green and hibiscus iced teas are organic.
